Scope

This standard sets out the method for determining the unconfined compressive strength of compacted specimens of bound base, subbase and subgrade materials. This method is applicable to the control testing of field or plant mix materials as supplied. NOTE: Other methods of test incorporating sensitivity analysis (e.g. degree of compaction and time of soaking) are normally applied for the design of the proportion of additive to be specified.
