- Scope
- This standard specifies the method for evaluating the UV resistance of rubber and plastic hoses under static conditions. This standard specifies three methods for the determination of the UV resistance of the outer coating of the hose: Method 1: For hoses with an inner diameter of 25mm or less, the test is carried out on the hose itself. Method 2: For hoses with an inner diameter greater than 25 mm, the test is carried out with samples cut from the hose wall. Method 3: For hoses with an inner diameter greater than 25 mm, the test is carried out with samples cut from the outer coating of the hose. Generally, method 1 or method 2 should be used. Use method 3 only if you cannot experiment with method 2.
