- 1.1 This standard specifies the determination of methane, ethane, propane, butane, isobutane, propylene, acetylene, propadiene, cis-2-butene, 1-butene, isobutene, trans-2-butene, methylacetylene and 1,3-butadiene. Since this standard cannot determine all possible impurities such as CO, CO2, H2O, alcohols, NO and carbonyl sulfide, and hydrocarbons higher than decane, it is necessary to fully characterize Ethylene samples also require the application of other test methods. 1.2 This standard is not intended to address all safety issues associated with its use.
