Scope

This standard specifies the principle, reagents, instruments, test preparation, test procedures, test results and errors of the urea determination method for the mesocresol content of phenolic products. This standard is applicable to the determination of meso-cresol content in products such as industrial cresol and m-p-cresol with a mass fraction of phenol not greater than 15% and ortho-cresol not greater than 40% in coking products.
