Taiwan Provincial Standard of the People's Republic of China
Latest
CNS 6680-2006
Scope
This standard specifies a method for determining the ester value of essential oils after acetylation to estimate their free alcohol content. This method is suitable for essential oils containing sufficient amounts of tertiary alcohols, such as linalol and terpineol, and this is CNS 6677 [Essential oils - Estimation method of free and total alcohol content (ester value determination method)] What cannot be measured. This method is not applicable to products containing sufficient amounts of phenols and o-amines as described in CNS 6677.
