- Scope
- This standard applies to the measurement method of DC (steady-state) and AC (instantaneous) noise margins of digital electronic devices. It provides the requirements for specific (definite) noise margins of devices, provides guarantee of device interchangeability, and eliminates misunderstandings between manufacturers and users about noise margin test procedures and results. Standards for specific combinations of test parameters (such as pulse width, pulse amplitude, etc.) do not exclude the test device from interoperating with these parameters.
