Scope

This standard specifies: (1) A single-number quantity that defines the impact sound insulation of buildings and their floors. (2) These values are determined by measurement results based on established rules. When it is a 1/3 octave band, it must comply with ISO 140-6 and ISO 140-7; when it is an octave band, it must comply with ISO 140-7. (3) Define the floor according to ISO 140-8 measurement results
