- This standard applies to the safety regulations of household microwave ovens (rated voltage) below 250V. This standard also covers combined microwave ovens, for which Appendix AA applies. This standard takes into account the common hazards posed by electrical appliances that may be encountered by all persons in and around the home. This standard does not take into account the following situations: ——children or children left unattended
