- 1.1 This standard specifies the determination method of alpha particle radioactivity concentration in water. This method can be applied to the testing of α-particle radioactivity in water containing α-particle energy greater than 3.9 MeV and radioactivity concentration greater than 0.02 Bq/mL (540pCi/L) with uniform radioactive distribution. It is not applicable to samples containing volatile alpha nuclear species under the analysis conditions of this method. 1.2 This method can be used for absolute or relative determination.
