Scope

This standard specifies the determination of phosphorus content in fatty acid methyl esters (FAME) by inductively coupled plasma (ICP) atomic emission spectrometry, with the concentration range being (4 to 20) mg/kg. Since phosphorus concentration may affect fuel performance, the purpose of this standard is to evaluate the quality of fatty acid methyl esters through the determination of phosphorus content.
