Scope

This standard concerns the calibration method of force meters used for static verification of uniaxial force testing machines (e.g., tension/compression testing machines), and also specifies the method of grading these. Force meter refers to the complete assembly including the components from the force transducer to the indicating device. This standard applies to force meters that determine the magnitude of force by measuring the amount of elastic deformation of a member subjected to force or a physical quantity proportional to this.
