This standard applies to radio frequency disturbances emitted (radiated and conducted) by the following equipment: - all lighting equipment intended for connection to a low-voltage power supply or operated on batteries, which have the essential function of generating and (or) distributing light; - the lighting part of multifunctional equipment whose main function is lighting; - independent auxiliary equipment dedicated to lighting equipment; - ultraviolet and infrared radiation equipment; - neon advertising sign lights; - intended to be used outdoors road or floodlights used; - transport lighting (installed on cars and trains). This standard does not apply to: - lighting equipment operating in the industrial, scientific and medical frequency bands (as defined in Resolution 63 (1979) of the ITU Radio Regulations); - lighting equipment for aircraft and airports; - Electromagnetic compatibility requirements in the radio frequency range are specified for appliances within other IEC or CISPR standards. The frequency range covered is 9kHz ~ 400 GHz. For multi-function devices that are applicable to different clauses of this standard and/or other standards at the same time, the relevant functions shall meet the requirements of each clause or standard when working. The limits in this standard are determined on a probabilistic basis so that disturbance suppression is within economically reasonable limits while still achieving an adequate level of radio protection and electromagnetic compatibility. In exceptional cases, additional requirements may be imposed.
