This standard describes matters related to the measurement of hysteresis loss of Cu/Nb-Ti multi-filament composite wires by means of DC or low sweep field rate magnetometers. This standard is aimed at the measurement of hysteresis loss in Cu/Nb-Ti multi-filament composite conductors. Measurements should be made for round wire at a temperature at or near 4.2K. DC or low sweep field rate magnetometer methods use superconducting quantum interference device (SQUID) magnetometers or vibrating sample magnetometers (VSM). In case of discrepancies between the results obtained with different (but all calibrated) magnetometers, the results measured by the VSM extrapolated to zero sweep rate shall prevail.
