This standard specifies the test methods and calculation procedures for the steady-state and dynamic thermal performance of solar collectors (hereinafter referred to as collectors). This standard applies to flat-plate solar collectors (hereinafter referred to as flat-plate collectors) that use solar radiation heating, have a transparent cover, and use a liquid heat transfer medium, and non-concentrating solar collectors that use a liquid heat transfer medium. Glass vacuum tube solar collectors, glass-metal structure vacuum tube solar collectors and heat pipe vacuum tube solar collectors (hereinafter referred to as vacuum tube collectors). This standard does not apply to heat storage solar collectors with integrated heat storage and heat collectors, nor to solar collectors without transparent cover plates and tracking focusing solar collectors.
