This standard specifies two methods for determining the isocyanate group content of aromatic isocyanates. Method A is mainly applicable to purified toluene diisocyanate (hereinafter referred to as TDI), methylene-bis(4-phenylisocyanate) (hereinafter referred to as MDI) and their prepolymers. Method B is applicable to purified or crude isocyanates of TDI, MDI and polymethylene poly7phenyl isocyanate, and modified isocyanates derived therefrom. It can be similarly applied to isomer mixtures of TDI, MDI and polymethylene polyphenyl isocyanate n other aromatic isocyanates can also be used if their validity can be confirmed. Not applicable to block isocyanate.
