This standard specifies a general method for converting sulfur compounds into sulfates and determining them by visual turbidimetry. This standard applies to the determination of the total amount of inorganic sulfur compounds and organic sulfur compounds that can react with potassium hydroxide ethanol solution to form potassium xanthate in organic solvents. The detection range is 0.4 μg/mL~4 μg/mL (calculated as SO4).
