- This standard specifies the physical connection, communication links and application technical specifications between multi-function energy meters and handheld units (HHU) or other data terminal equipment. This standard is applicable to the point-to-point or one-master-multi-slave data exchange method between multi-function electric energy meters and handheld units (HHU) or other data terminal equipment in local systems. Other electric energy meters with communication functions, such as single-phase electric energy meters and multi-rate electric energy meters, can be used as a reference.
