- This standard specifies the technical requirements for the calibration, use, maintenance, transportation and handling, and storage of moving coil velocity geophones or geophone strings (hereinafter referred to as moving coil geophones) and piezoelectric geophones. This standard applies to the use and maintenance of moving coil geophones and piezoelectric geophones (hereinafter collectively referred to as geophones). Other types of analog detectors can be implemented by reference. This standard does not apply to the use and maintenance of geophones during submarine cable or streamer construction.
