This standard requires that the manufacturer of the original equipment or a third party certified by the manufacturer declare that the original equipment manufacturer or a third party certified by the manufacturer declares that the office equipment products that use reused parts perform the same as products that use only new parts. Consumables such as toner cartridges that can be replaced by the user are not covered. Additionally, this standard does not apply to equipment that does not meet the original design performance specifications, even if the equipment has been remanufactured by the original equipment manufacturer or a third party authorized by the manufacturer.
