Scope

This International Standard specifies two methods for determining the maximum count rate at which the intensity scale of AES and XPS spectrometers falls within the limits of the allowable linear dispersion. It also includes methods for correcting for intensity non-linearities so that higher maximum count rates can be used for those spectrometers for which the associated correction formula has been shown to be effective.
