Scope

This standard specifies the terms and definitions, specifications, models and examples, requirements, test methods, inspection rules and signs, packaging, transportation and storage of laboratory variable air volume fume hoods (hereinafter referred to as variable air volume fume hoods). This standard applies to factory-made variable air volume fume hoods. This standard does not apply to variable air volume fume hoods with built-in activated carbon filters or high-efficiency filters.
