This part of SN/T 1880 specifies the hygienic specifications for the use of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) as packaging for imported and exported food. This section applies to homopolymer PET resins produced with purified terephthalic acid and ethylene glycol as the main raw materials and produced by direct esterification continuous polycondensation or intermittent polycondensation, and homopolymer PET resins with purified terephthalic acid, ethylene glycol and isophthalic acid as the main raw materials. The main raw material is copolymerized PET resin produced by direct esterification, continuous polycondensation or intermittent polycondensation. Polyethylene terephthalate is used as import and export food packaging bags, films, food containers, etc.
