Scope: This standard specifies the item categories and letter codes classified by purpose and task, expands the content of GB/T 5094.2 table "item category and letter code divided by use and task", and adds subcategories (second letter code). This standard applies to all disciplines and standards of structure, technology, electrical engineering, such as power generation, power distribution, processing machinery, shipbuilding, marine engineering, etc. A finer classification may specify additional letter codes. This standard does not involve the provisions of letter codes for the categories and subcategories of infrastructure projects in the GB/T 5094.2 table "Infrastructure projects and categories".
