- 1.1 This standard specifies rotating electrical machines other than AC motors powered by electronic converters on electrically driven railway rolling stock and road vehicles (hereinafter referred to as rolling stock). These rolling stock can be powered from an external power source or from an internal power source. The purpose of this standard is to confirm the performance of the motor through tests and provide a basis for evaluating the adaptability of the motor to a specified load and comparing it with other motors. This standard also applies to electric motors installed on trailers towed by electrically powered rolling stock. The basic requirements of this standard may apply to rotating electrical machines on special-purpose rolling stock (such as mining locomotives), but do not include explosion protection or other special properties that may be required. This standard does not apply to motors on small road vehicles (such as battery-powered trucks, factory trucks, etc.), nor does it apply to micro motors, such as front window wiper motors used on various rolling stock. Industrial motors that comply with GB 755-2000 can be used for certain auxiliary purposes.
