- This section specifies two test methods for determining the bulk density of aluminum powder, magnesium powder, and aluminum-magnesium alloy powder, including the Scott volumetric method and the funnel method. The Scott volumetric method is suitable for the determination of granular powders that can be manually passed through a 2500 μm sieve with the help of a soft brush. The funnel method is suitable for the determination of flaky powders containing trace amounts of lubricant that can be manually passed through a 500 μm sieve with the help of a soft brush.
