Scope
This standard applies to heating cables used at low temperatures, such as heating of living facilities and protection against freezing. This standard applies to cables with a rated voltage of 300/500V. Heating cables for industrial use will be specified in a separate standard. This standard applies only to cables and not to any other components of the heating system. This standard specifies the construction of cables using single or multiple conductors. It also recommends approved combinations of insulation and sheath materials. Bare conductors and protected conductors with a supply voltage equal to or less than 50V are not included in the scope of this standard.
