Scope: This standard specifies the terms and definitions, symbols, test principles, test devices, samples, test procedures, test result calculations and test reports for testing the damping capacity of metal damping materials by the torsional pendulum method and the bending vibration method. This standard applies to the determination of the damping capacity of metal damping materials at room temperature. The torsional pendulum method is used for torsional vibration in the low frequency range (0.1Hz ~ 10Hz); the bending vibration method is used for bending vibration in the audio frequency range.
