This standard describes methods for measuring the tensile strength, tensile elongation at break, and tensile energy absorption of paper and paperboard, as well as specific tensile strength, specific tensile energy absorption, and tensile modulus using a constant-speed extension type tensile testing machine. Specify the calculation method. Tests according to this standard always include measurement of tensile strength. Measurement or calculation of other characteristic values shall be subject to agreement between the parties concerned. This standard applies to all papers and paperboards, and also to tensile elongation at break, which is within the measuring range of the test equipment. This standard applies to corrugated board, but not to corrugated board itself.
