This standard is applicable to ultrasonic longitudinal wave and transverse wave flaw detection of steam turbine generator steel retaining rings with a wall thickness of 25 mm to 120 mm and a ratio of inner diameter to wall thickness greater than or equal to 5:1. This standard includes the contact method and liquid immersion method of ultrasonic flaw detection, and it does not limit the use of other better methods other than those specified in this standard for ultrasonic flaw detection of retaining rings. This standard also provides common acceptance terms for ultrasonic flaw detection of retaining rings.
