- The purpose of this test is to use standard compaction methods to determine the relationship between soil density and moisture content, thereby determining the maximum density and optimal moisture content of soil. This procedure is divided into two methods: light compaction test and heavy compaction test. The light compaction test is applied to clay soil with a particle size less than three mm, and its unit volume compaction capacity is 592.2kJ/m3; the heavy compaction test is applicable to Soil with a particle size less than 20mm has a compaction function per unit volume of 2684.9KJ/m3.
