- Scope
- The purpose of this test is to determine the liquid limit, plastic limit and shrinkage limit of fine-grained soil, classify soil types, and calculate the plastic index for use in design and construction. The determination of each moisture content is carried out according to the drying method of SL 237-003-1999 "Moisture Content Test". This procedure is applicable to soil with particle size less than 0.5mm and organic matter content not greater than 5% of dry soil mass.
