- Scope
- This standard specifies the classification of ferromagnetic or ferrimagnetic substances for use in applications, i.e.: magnetic materials. Magnetic materials in this standard are mainly divided into two categories: soft magnetic materials (coercive force ≤1kA/m) and permanent magnetic (hard magnetic) materials (coercive force >1kA/m). Within these main categories, when the classification is reasonable, the main alloying elements, the physical state and properties of the material, and the relationship between the above properties can be identified. This standard is suitable for classifying magnetic materials.
