Scope: 1.1 This Outline covers recovery/reuse equipment for a specific refrigerant other than R12 or R134a. The specific refrigerants include EPA SNAP accepted automotive refrigerants. This Outline covers recovery/reuse equipment for a refrigerant that has been directly removed from a mobile air-conditioning system and is intended for reuse in the same mobile air-conditioning system or in a mobile air-conditioning system that is under the control and direction of the same owner (such as a fleet). 1.2 This Outline applies to equipment used to service automobiles, light trucks, and other vehicles with similar mobile air-conditioning systems. 1.3 A product that contains features, characteristics, components, materials or systems new or different from those covered by the requirements in this Outline, and that involves a risk of fire, electric shock, or injury to persons shall be evaluated using the appropriate additional component and end-product requirements to determine that the level of safety as originally anticipated by the intent of this Outline is maintained. A product whose features, characteristics, components, materials, or systems conflict with specific requirements or provisions of this Outline shah net be judged to comply with this Outline. Where appropriate, revision of requirements shall be proposed and adopted in conformance with the methods employed for development, revision, and implementation of this Outline.
