This specification establishes requirements for 2xxx-series and 7xxx- series aluminum alloy forgings of any shape or form from which finished parts are to be made. These forgings are used typically in the manufacture of high-performance parts when control of short-transverse tensile properties and fracture toughness is required, but usage is not limited to such applications.
