- 1.1 This standard recommends test methods for evaluating the performance of electromagnetic flowmeters for measuring the flow of conductive liquids filled in closed pipes. It specifies a uniform procedure for checking the performance characteristics of flowmeters when they are subjected to certain influencing quantities and a method of presentation for describing performance measurements. Note: If it is not necessary to make a comprehensive assessment according to this standard, then the tests that need to be done should be carried out according to the relevant parts of this standard, and the test results should be recorded. 1.2 This standard is only applicable to industrial tube-mounted electromagnetic flowmeters, and it is not applicable to insertion flowmeters, liquid metal flowmeters and medical flowmeters. However, by agreement between the manufacturer and the user or evaluation body, certain tests specified may be applicable to the above instruments.
