This standard specifies the test methods for pendulum impact testing machines. This standard applies to the pendulum impact testing machine (hereinafter referred to as the testing machine) equipped with a 2 mm or 8 mm impact knife and used for pendulum impact testing in accordance with the test methods specified in GB/T 229. Testing machines with other capacities and different structures can also refer to this standard. The testing machine used in the industry, general laboratory or research laboratory for testing metal materials and conforming to the provisions of this standard is called working testing machine. The testing machine with strict requirements is called the standard impact testing machine, and the inspection of the standard impact testing machine is specified in GB/T l8658. This standard describes two inspection methods. A) Direct method. This method is actually a static inspection method, that is, to ensure that it meets the requirements of this standard by measuring the key components of the testing machine. The inspection instruments used should be certified to be traceable to the national benchmarks of legal units of measurement in our country. The direct method shall be used to check the testing machine when it is installed, repaired or when the indirect method gives incorrect results; b) Indirect method. This method is actually a dynamic inspection method, that is, a standard sample is used to inspect the indication on the indicating device. This standard requires both direct and indirect methods to test the testing machine (see Chapter 12). The technical requirements for standard samples are specified in GB/T 18658. Note: The indirect method specified in this standard only considers the total energy absorbed by the fracture of the specimen. The total energy includes 1) the energy required to break the sample itself; 2) the internal energy loss of the pendulum of the testing machine to swing from the initial position to complete the first half cycle. Internal energy losses are due to: a) air resistance, friction of the pendulum bearings and friction of the hands, these energy losses can be determined by direct methods (see 9.4); b) shocks of the foundation, vibrations of the frame and pendulum, these There is no proper measurement method and measuring instrument for energy loss.
