Scope

This standard specifies methods for measuring IS0 whiteness (diffuse blue light reflectance) of paper, paperboard and pulp. This standard applies to white or near-white paper, paperboard and pulp. Paper, paperboard, and pulp containing optical brighteners may be measured; however, for standardization of equipment and consistency of measurements between instruments, a standard fluorescent white surface should be used to measure the ultraviolet light energy contained in the illumination light. must be adjusted.
