Scope

This International Standard specifies a method for determining parameters using the linear region of the load curve on normal probability paper. This parameter is intended to be an aid in evaluating tribological behavior such as lubricated sliding surfaces and to control manufacturing processes. Note: The corresponding international standards for this standard are shown below. The symbols representing the degree of correspondence are IDT (matched), MOD (modified), and NEQ (not equivalent) based on ISO/IEC Guide 21.
