- This standard specifies the terms, definitions, principles, specimens, test equipment and instruments, test conditions, test procedures, test result processing and test reports of the slow strain rate stress corrosion test method. This standard is applicable to the determination of stress corrosion fracture susceptibility of plates, rods, profiles, forgings of aluminum alloys, titanium alloys and various steel materials, as well as semi-finished products or parts that can be processed into corresponding specimens. Other alloys can also be used as reference.
