Scope
This standard specifies the general requirements and test methods for environmental stress screening of airborne electronic equipment. This standard applies to the following types of equipment: jet aircraft equipment; turboprop and rotorcraft equipment; air-launched weapons and combined external stores. This standard can be used for development and series production of components, equipment and systems. The environmental stress screening method specified in this standard can be used as a preprocessing for various reliability tests (growth, identification and acceptance) and a test before product delivery to find and eliminate various design or manufacturing process and component defects, and eliminate early failures. , improve the reliability of electronic equipment. When this standard is applied to large and heavy equipment, the following aspects should be considered: a. Potential fatigue issues; b. Environmental exposure methods; c. Available test equipment; d. Effectiveness of testing at lower assembly levels.
