- This standard specifies two test conditions for vibration environment and severe vibration environment of civil aircraft airborne equipment and their corresponding test methods. It is an integral part of the "Environmental Conditions and Test Methods for Civil Aircraft Airborne Equipment" series of standards. Standard vibration environments apply to all types of airborne equipment installed on all types of aircraft. The severe vibration environment applies to equipment installed on turbojet aircraft that generate severe vibration environments.
