Scope
This standard specifies the laboratory test conditions for testing the sound and vibration resistance of airborne equipment of subsonic and supersonic civil aircraft. It is part of the series of standards "Environmental Conditions and Test Methods for Airborne Equipment of Civil Aircraft". This standard also stipulates two types of tests: equipment sound resistance functional test and equipment sound resistance endurance test. The conditions specified in this standard apply to equipment sound resistance function tests during the equipment development stage and during type and delivery tests; they also apply to sound resistance endurance tests that are usually performed during the equipment development process to find structural defects. This standard only applies to equipment that is sensitive to sound vibrations. The relevant standards should stipulate the necessity of conducting sound resistance functional tests and sound resistance durability tests, using the broadband noise method or the wipe method and the applicable test sound pressure level. This standard does not apply to equipment in areas on aircraft where the total sound pressure level is less than 125dB.
