- This standard specifies the technical requirements for cylindrical spiral compression and tension springs, the methods of standing treatment, heating and loading, and inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation and storage. This standard is applicable to cylindrical spiral compression springs (including shot peening springs) and tension springs made of cold-drawn steel wire with circular cross-section made of materials such as 1Cr18Ni9 and Cr12Mn5Ni4Mo3AlI.
