Object Identification System (OBIS) defines identification codes (ID codes) for data items commonly used in electrical metering equipment. This section specifies the overall structure of the identification system and the mapping relationship between all data items and corresponding identification codes. OBIS provides a unique identification code for all data in metering equipment, including not only measurement values, but also the configuration of instrumentation equipment or abstract data that obtains the operating status of instrumentation equipment. The ID codes defined in this section are used to identify: · The logical names of various instances or objects of the interface class, which are defined in GB/T 19882.32-2007; · Data transmitted through communication lines (see A.1); · Measuring equipment Displayed data (see A.2). This section applies to various types of electrical metering equipment, such as fully electronic integrated meters, modular meters, rate accessories, data concentrators, etc. In order to cover other metering equipment besides electric energy, combined metering equipment is used to measure multiple energies or multiple physical measurement channels, the concepts of channels and transmission media are introduced. This section allows identification of data from different sources. Although this section fully defines the structure of other media identification systems, the mapping of non-electrical energy data items and ID codes needs to be completed independently. Note: CEN TC 294 has implemented some identification codes for non-electrical energy data in the draft prENl3757 "Communication System for Instruments and Remote Meter Reading".
