This standard specifies the method for the determination of fat content in animal feed. This method is applicable to animal feed other than oilseeds and oilseed residues. For the determination effect of this method, the animal feed is divided into the following two categories; the samples of category B products need to be hydrolyzed before extraction. Category B: - Pure animal feed, including dairy products. - pure vegetable feeds that cannot be extracted without prior hydrolysis, such as gluten, yeast, soybean and potato protein, and heat-treated feeds; - compound feeds containing a certain amount of processed products, at least 20% of which contain fat from these processed products. Category A: Animal feed other than Category B. For oilseeds, a method for the determination of "oil content" by hexane extraction is described in ISO 659 [1].
