This part of GB/T 16260 defines external measures for quantitatively measuring the external quality of software based on the characteristics and sub-characteristics defined in GB/T 16260.1-2006. This section is intended to be used together with GB/T 16260.1-2006. This section includes the following: a) an explanation of how to use software quality metrics; b) a basic set of metrics for each subcharacteristic; c) examples of how to use these metrics during the software product life cycle. This standard does not set the range of these measures for a certain rating level or level of compliance, because these values are based on the own characteristics of each software product or part of a software product, that is, dependency and software classification, completeness factors such as levels and user needs. Some attributes may have a desired value range, but it does not depend on the needs of specific users, and the determination of the range often depends on general factors, such as human cognitive factors. This section can be used for various application software. Users can select, modify, and apply the metrics and measures in this section, as well as define application-specific metrics for unique application domains. For example, specific measurements of quality characteristics such as safety and security can refer to relevant national and international standards. This section is intended for the following users: a) Demanders (individuals or organizations that obtain or purchase systems, software products or software services from suppliers); b) Evaluators (individuals or organizations that perform evaluations. For example, evaluators can be testing laboratories, quality departments of software development organizations, government organizations or users); c) developers (individuals or organizations that perform development activities, including requirements analysis, design, testing, and acceptance during the software life cycle) ; d) maintainers (individuals or organizations that perform maintenance activities); e) suppliers (individuals or organizations that provide systems, software products or software services to the demand side according to the signed contract), which confirm the software quality in the qualification test f) users (individuals or organizations that use software products to perform specific functions), which are used when evaluating the quality of software products in acceptance tests; g) quality managers (individuals or organizations that perform systematic inspections of software products or software services) organization), used when evaluating software quality as an integral part of quality assurance and quality control.
