- This standard specifies the items, cycles and requirements for preventive testing of tools, devices and equipment for live work, which is used to determine whether the tools, devices and equipment meet the conditions of use and prevent their damage, so as to ensure the safety of people and equipment during live work. This standard applies to tools, devices and equipment used for live work in AC and DC power systems. This standard does not apply to tools, devices and equipment used for live work in special environments.
