- This standard specifies the technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, packaging, marking, transportation, storage, safety requirements, etc. for industrial purified terephthalic acid (hereinafter referred to as PTA). This standard applies to industrial PTA made from petroleum paraxylene as raw material through oxidation and refining. This product is mainly used as raw material for the production of polyester chips, long and short polyester fibers and chemical products. Molecular formula: CHO Relative molecular mass: 166.13 (according to 2001 international relative atomic mass).
