Scope
This standard specifies a test procedure for evaluating the anti-rust properties of liquid lubricants using the ball rust test (BRT). This method is particularly suitable for evaluating the anti-rust performance of gasoline engine oil in low temperature and acidic environments. This standard is suitable for evaluating the anti-rust performance of gasoline engine oils such as API SG+, API SL/ILSAC GF-3 and ILSAC GF-4. The numerical values in this standard adopt [SI] system units or other unit systems. The same quantity expressed in different systems of units cannot be exactly equal. Therefore, when using each unit system, it is independent of other unit systems, and mixing between different unit systems is not allowed. This standard does not raise safety issues related to use. Users can establish appropriate safety and health measures based on actual conditions. For the content involved, see 7.1.1, 7.1.2, 7.1.3, 7.1.4, 7.1.5, 7.1.6, 7.1.7, 7.1.9, 7.1.10, 7.1.11 and 8.2.1.1.
