Scope
This standard applies to mobile residual current devices (hereinafter referred to as PRCD) for household and similar purposes. PRCD consists of a plug, a residual current device (RCD) and one or several sockets or wiring devices, and its action function is related to the power supply voltage. Dependent or independent of supply voltage. PRCD does not have overcurrent protection, and is suitable for single-phase circuits with rated voltage to ground not exceeding AC 250V and rated current not exceeding 16A. In addition to the protection provided by the fixing device, the PRCD is used to provide protection against the electric shock hazard of direct contact with the circuit below it. The rated power residual operating current of PRCD shall not exceed 0.03A. Plugs and sockets shall comply with relevant standards. This standard applies to mobile devices that can simultaneously perform functions such as detecting residual current, comparing the residual current value with the residual operating current value, and disconnecting the protected circuit when the residual current exceeds this value. PRCD cannot be used as part of a fixed device, and their connection devices can be plugs, sockets, terminals or cables. The technical requirements of this standard apply to the environmental conditions specified in 7.1. PRCDs used under more severe environmental conditions may require supplementary technical requirements. PRCDs containing batteries are not included in the scope of this standard. This standard does not apply to PRCDs that have the additional function of detecting faults on the power supply side and preventing them from closing when the power supply circuit fails.
